MA History is a two year course and there are two semesters in each year. The course has a wide scope. In MA History you would be studying about ancient, medieval and modern societies.

As per the curriculum, students are required to complete 150 credit hours of coursework over a minimum of 3 years to graduate with an Undergraduate liberal arts degree. Out of these, 108 credits must be taken in the Major discipline. Some of the subjects included in Major disciplines are:

BA in History at UPRTOU is a three-year course, divided into six semesters. In each semester, students have to study a combination of compulsory and elective subjects. When you apply for B.A. (Hons.) in History at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) through CUET, the cutoff will be considered based on your score in the history subject, not the overall subjects. Even if you chose many subjects in CUET, for admission to the History program, they will primarily look at how well you did in history.
So, your performance in the history subject is the most important factor for getting into the B.A. (Hons.) History course at JMI. Make sure you have a good score in history, as this will be the key to meeting the cutoff and securing your admission. Don't worry too much about the other subjects you chose; just focus on y

There are several books of History that can help a candidate prepare for and qualify various entrance exams of MA History. Some of which are mentioned below:
- Government authorized school level books of History: These books cover basic but essential facts and concepts that can help a candidate start from scratch.
- Books covered in BA History such as India's Ancient Past, History of Modern India and Early Social Formations.
- IGNOU BA History and MA History materials.
Suggestion: Studying from books for entrance exams though is essential but not sufficient. Candidates are advised to go through previous year question papers and practice mock tes

No many candidates pursue MA History after completing undergraduate courses from various disciplines. MA in History has theoretical subjects that requires comprehension and analytical skills. candidates who are interesting in studying about past societies, cultures and economies can pursue this course.
