The eligibility criteria for Hotel Management course in Kerala are different at UG and PG levels. The candidates:
- UG Eligibility: Must have passed Class 12 from a recognised board with passing marks to be eligible for the UG course. Many colleges also list additional eligibility criteria stating that students must have cleared English as a core subject of study if they want to pursue a hotel/ hospitality management course.

As per India Today rankings 2024, IHM Kovalam emerged to be on the position securing 15th position as the top Hotel Management college in Kerala. Its consistent high rankings over the years show that it is among the top educational institutions. In the 'Hotel Management' category, IHM Kovalam ranked in the top 50 in the country for the 3rd consecutive year in 2024.

There are about 3 top Hotel Management colleges in Kerala. Of these, 2 colleges are privately owned and 1 college is owned by public/government organisations. Students can secure admission after passing Class 12 boards or through entrance exam like NCHMCT JEE. SIHM is good for B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Adminstration as in 3 year bachelor programme the student is provided with proper internships and industrial trainings, The top recuriters are The Taj Group, The Leela Group and the Oberoi groups of hotels and they provide good package to the students.

For taking admisson, the candidates must have passed the high school (12th) from any stream with english as main subject from any recognised board.
Then they have to clear the enterance exam (NHCM JEE) for taking addmisson in the college. Candidates can register themselves for the exams on NTA websites. After the exams, candidates have to take part in the joint counselling and seat allotment is based on this consulling result.

At the UG level, JIMS Vasant Kunj II offers a three-year Bachelor in Hotel Management (BHM) course. Candidates who are Class 12 pass with a minimum of 50% aggregate can apply. The application form can be submitted in online and offline modes. Admission is done in this course based on merit in the JIMS Entrance Test (JET). The shortlisted students are then called for interview round for the final selection.

Yes, the BHM course applicants can also apply for the offered scholarship scheme. The institute provides tuition fee waivers based on the applicants aggregate in Class 12. Mentioned below is the criteria that is followed for JIMS Vasant Kunj II BHM scholarship:
