Yes, admission to the BSc courses is entrance-based. IIHM Kolkata BSc admission is done based on merit in Electronic Common Hospitality Admission Test (eCHAT exam). The entrance examination is conducted in an online mode. It is an objective type test, hence, it includes multiple choice type questions. No, International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) Kolkata has no provision for direct admission. Aspirants are required to fulfil the eligibility requirements and have a valid score of IIHM eCHAT exam. Candidates wanting to take admission in the UG course are required to register and fill out the application form. It is made available in both online and offline modes. Thus, the aspirants must take the entrance exam and meet eligibility criteria for admission to the course.

The aspirants who have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam with English as a core subject can appear for the Electronic Common Hospitality Admission Test (eCHAT). In addition, the applicant must be at least 22 years old as of Jul 1 of the admission year. Students who meet the mentioned criteria can fill out the registration form for the entrance test. IIHM Kolkata provides merit-based scholarships to students who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. The scholarship is offered to the applicants based on Class 12 scores. To become eligible for the scholarship, aspirant should have secured 90% or above in Class 12. In the scholarship, a certain amount of percentage is exempted from the tuition fee. Further, the aspirants can also get in touch with the admission office of the institute to get more information. This information is as per past years' data and hence, is indicative.

The aspirants should first check out the eligibility criteria before proceeding with admission formalities. Students who have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam from a recognised board with English as one of the main subjects are eligible. In addition, the upper age limit is 22 years as of Jul 1, 2025.
These students need to take eCHAT exam. Selection for the course is based on exam scores only. Shortlisted students also have to appear for interview round for final selection. Following final selection, documents can be submitted and the fee shall be paid for seat confirmation.

A concise placements report for BBA or an official document is not available as of now. As per the student reviews on Shiksha, 90% placement was achieved by the institute in 2023 (overall). Moreover, the highest and average package offered in the placements stood at INR 2.52 LPA and INR 1.68 LPA, respectively.
