The Department of Economics, Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora started in 2017 with a vision to impart quality education to students so that they can successfully face the challenges amidst this rapidly changing economic environment, and offer data-driven solutions to issues facing our society. At present, the Department offers M.A. And Ph.D. programmes in Economics and gears up for expansion both in terms of the number of programmes and infrastructural facilities. The students are admitted through rigorous selection process involving a comprehensive written test to ensure the selection of the meritorious students. The course structure offers a fine balance between theoretical knowledge and practical skills, which is timely updated to incorporate technological changes and market requirements.
