42 marks in JEE Mains are very low if you belong to general category specially. Because with these marks, you won't be able to get any government college in your state. Instead you can try for state college counselling happening every year where you can get college based on your state rank and JEE marks. Add the college WITH CSE Branch in it if any criteria of college matches your marks then you will get the CSE.

There is no more option had been left now for you this year to get government colleges through any entrance test. This is because most of the entrance test exam form filling date had been over and their exam are few days ahead to conduct. So if want to get admission in government college then apply for JOSAA on whatever mark you have got in JEE. If your luck is with you them you might got government college otherwise wait for next year.
