you have very good board score which helps you in getting the seat. To strengthen this you have reservation also. You have a chance to get top 5 NIT's but you must compromise with branch. However, you have advance also. Concentrate on that. Hope for the good. All d best :)

Your score is not valid enough to get admission into NIT or IIT, however you may get government colleges in Maharashtra. But you should apply for some best private universities having their forms open. Private universities also provide best infrastructure and equally good education with government universities. There can be variation in ranks when the same is calculated on the basis of normalization of scores, taking in account Class XII Board results along with reservation (SC / ST / OBC etc.) and JEE exam scores.

NIT-Surat is there in Gujarat. But with 70 marks, you can get admission into it only if you belong to ST or SC category. If OBC, you have a very little chance of getting into it. Thats all I know.

If you belong to ST or SC category, you have a great chance of getting a NIT.

148 ? Very easily you'll get it. Don't contain yourself, prepare for the advanced whole heartedly and try getting into IITs. Think of the NITs as a backup. All the best !!
