The descriptive section of JMI entrance exam question paper is lengthy. In these questions, students have answer in given word limit. To score well in JMI exam, students must practice from sample question papers. This will help understand the speed required to complete the exam on time.

As per expert advice, candidates must solve JMI question paper of at least last five years. The JMI previous year papers will help them understand the type questions asked and topic wise weightage. Also, prepare for the questions asked historically.

  • Part A: Written Test (Objective/ MCQs)
  • Part B: Written Test (Subjective/ Descriptive/ Theory)

Candidates will be able to give descriptive paper only when objective test is completed.

Non-MCQ questions are less than 20 per cent of the total number of questions in the JMI question paper. The non-MCQs are mostly from topics like National and International Political issues/ personalities, General Knowledge, Film, Television and other modes of media, Art, culture and literature.

Yes, the JMI question papers of different mass communication courses are different from each other. As the questions are based on the courses. The difference of question papers across the courses are normalised at the time of score calculation. However, there isn’t much difference between their difficulty level.

Solving previous year JMI question papers will help the candidates in understading the exam pattern and know the types of questions that are asked. It will also help them know question-wise weightage of topics in the JMI exam and their difficulty level. At times, the questions from previous tests are used in the current year's test and if candidates have already solved questions from the past, they will be able to solve the same question in their JMI exam quickly.

The difficulty level of JMI question paper is generally moderate level. The General Knowledge and Art, culture and literature sections of all the mass communication exam question paper can be termed easy to moderate whereas the descriptive section of the exam can be termed moderate in terms of difficulty level.

Candidates can download the JMI entrance exam sample papers of a particular course from the official website of JMI. Candidates will have to choose the course and the department to get the previous years papers. Shiksha.com has also shared the direct link to download the previous year question papers.

The previous year's Jamia Milia Islamia BA LLB (English) CUET Cut off score was 93.75. For BA (Hons) English and BA (Hons) Sociology and Psychology, the anticipated CUET cut off ranges for JMI 2024 are 48–69 and 60–74, respectively.  At Delhi University (DU), the cutoff percentile for the B.A. (Hons) English programme is 95+, whereas at Jamia Millia Islamia, it falls between 65 and 80. In case where many courses or branch are there in one programme, the candidate will be allotted the course or branch as per the preference filled in the application form, strictly as per merit and the admission rules of Jamia Millia Islamia. For upgradation of course or branch, the candidate has to take admission and fill a form at the time of admission, if he or she wants to retain the allotted course or branch or want to upgrade.
