In case where many courses or branch are there in one programme, the candidate will be allotted the course or branch as per the preference filled in the application form, strictly as per merit and the admission rules of Jamia Millia Islamia. For upgradation of course or branch, the candidate has to take admission and fill a form at the time of admission, if he or she wants to retain the allotted course or branch or want to upgrade. The upgradation of course or branch will be done strictly as per merit and JMI admission rules. Candidates should keep in mind that the down gradation will be allowed in no case. Candidates can check all the information on this website such as prospectus, application form link, syllabus, result and merit list on this website, along with this candidates can also find the important details at shiksha.com.

No. There is no provision for revaluation/re-checking of JMI entrance exam result. The university does not entertain any correspondence in this regard. The decision of the University is binding and final. To score well in the exam candidates must work hard so that they can beat the prescribed cut off for their programme. However, Jamia Millia Islamia releases the answer key after the examination is over. Candidates can file objections related to answer key within three days.

Selected candidates are required to complete their admission formalities as per the admission process declared by the Jamia Millia Islamia. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend the counselling as per the schedule and bring the following documents at the time of admission.
- Marksheet of qualifying exam (Class 12, graduation, postgraduation)
- Age proof based on the Certificate of high school/secondary school or equivalent examination
- Reserved category certificate
- Character Certificate 5
- Permanent address proof
- Experience and No Objection Certificates (In case of working candidates)
- Admit Card.

Jamia Millia Islamia adopts certain policy to break the tie, if two candidates get the same scores in the JMI Entrance Exam. The tie breaking policy is made according to the programme. In all other programmes except B.Tech, B.Arch BDS the tie is resolved on the basis of the date of birth that is the candidates older in age is given the higher rank. For interview programmes, candidates securing high marks in the entrance exam is given higher rank. The result of Jamia Millia Islamia entrance exam is declared in the form of merit list. The list contains the selected candidates for each course. Category, age, marks obtained in the examination etc. Of the candidates are taken into account while making the list. After releasing the list of selected candidates the process of counseling starts. If seats are left after counseling then additional list of candidates selected from waiting list is displayed in order of merit as per university admission process. JMI Entrance Exam scores are valid for admission in the current academic session only. The result of JMI Entrance Exam 2024 cannot be carried forward for admission in 2025-26 academic session. Therefore, if a candidate fails to qualify in the JMI Entrance Exam 2024 or is unable to take admission in that academic year, he/she will have to appear for JMI Entrance Exam in the next year and take admission. After one year, JMI exam marks will be just another document or record to prove the appearance in the written test.

No, Jamia Millia Islamia does not send the JMI Entrance Exam result by post to any candidate. The result has to be viewed online from the official website of JMI Exam. Candidates must check their scores and take a printout of the result till the admission process is complete. The JMI Entrance Exam result is declared in the form of merit list which contains the candidate's individual score and the cut off for every category. Candidates meeting the cut off will be called for counselling or interview (if required).
