You can apply for UGC NET exam after completing M.Com or you are in the qualifying year of the M.Com. To appear for the exam, you have to score a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (for general) or 50% aggregate marks (for SC/ST/PwD/OBC) in Master's degree. It's on you and your interest if you want knowledge regarding management field you can opt for MBA and if your goals are different, you can opt for M.Com+SSC. Just follow your goals and plan as per your interest and select your field.

After M.Com, you have become a master of the subject. Now, what you want to do with this degree in hand is up to you. However, the most sought after career after this is teaching. For school level, you have to get B.Ed and for college level lectureship, you need to clear NET. Other career options are banking, research analysis, accountancy, etc. It's you who have to decide what career attracts you.
Good luck.
