Many top colleges and universities in India offer admission on the basis of merit list prepared as per the marks scored in the entrance test. Generally, the entrance examination is based on Mathematics and reasoning. There is a different exam pattern of each entrance test. The best universities are: Delhi University, Delhi
Jamia Millia Islamia, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar
The University of Pune, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra

Yes, you can do the same as you have that knowledge of computer science along with statistics and you can use that same knowledge truly in the line of statistics. Also, you need to have a strong base in subjects like mathematics and physics which can help you pursue Statistics courses easily.
