If the university is recognised by the UGC and has permission from UGC to conduct courses in open and distance mode then you are eligible to apply for Ph.D. Generally, the UGC will mention the list of universities whose qualification is accepted for Ph.D. Please go through that.

To pursue M.Sc Physics, you need to pass graduation in Science subjects (Biology, Maths and Chemistry). You may contact the college officials directly for specific criteria and admission procedure. *

This would depend on your interest areas and career aspirations. In case you intend to pursue a career in Economic/Equity research / financial journalism/academics area then M.Sc Economics is better. However, if you want to move into a career in analytics & data sciences, then the other two courses are better.
