Yes, Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garwhal University aka MAHGU conducts its own entrance exam for admissions to most of its courses. The students are shortlisted on the basis of valid score obtained in MAHGUEE. Followed by the entrance exam, the university also conducts group discussions and personal interview for admissions to some of its courses. Yes, Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garwhal University accepts offline applications for all of its offered programmes. Intersted candidates who have opted for offline application, must submit the duly filled out application form along with a Demand Draft of INR 1000 s a demand draft drawn in favour of "Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University" payable at Dehradun. The application form should be submitted or sent to “The Registrar, Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University, Village Dhaid Gaon, Block Pokhra, Dist. Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, India."

31% of the total seats are reserved by MAHGU for students who are permanent residents of Uttarakhand. In addition to this, the university sets seats aside for those who are PWD (those with a minimum impairment of 40%) and SC/ST/OBC. Furthermore, some seats at Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University have been allocated aside for PIOs, Foreign Nationals, and NRIs. The university offers UG, PG, Diploma and Phd degrees in a wide range of programmes spanning over several specialisations.
