Established in 1973, the University has been upgraded to the position of a Central University under the Central Universities Act, 2009. Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University has three campuses, namely Birla campus, Srinagar (extension at Chauras campus), B. Gopal Reddy campus, Pauri and Swami Ram Teerth (SRT) campus, Tehri.

Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University has three campuses: Birla campus in Srinagar (with an extension at Chauras campus), B.
