Both the fields have good value and knowledge if you want to pursue Actuarial science but according to my suggestion you would go for maths hons because math subject having a crucial role in Actuarial science field.

It depends upon your choice of interest which subject you can deal best.
Both are totally different.
Maths is a science subject in which you can further go for engineering or in academics.
Social studies is an art subject. It has options like to opt for civil services or going in academics as professors, academician.

You can do BSc Maths and you will have following options after completing BSc Maths : (a) MSc Maths (b) MSc Statistics (c) MSc Operation Research (d) MSc Computation Science (e) MSc Information Systems (f) Masters in Data Analytic (g) MCA .
