MAKAUT provides hostel facility for both boys and girls. The eligibility criteria for MAKAUT admission vary depending on the course the candidates are applying for. However, the general eligibility criteria for undergraduate courses is that candidate should have passed Class 12 from a recognised board with a minimum of 45% aggregate. Also, the candidate must have passed the WBJEE exam conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board. Moreover, for postgraduate courses, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or a related field from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Also, candidates must have passed the MAKAUT PG entrance exam.

Moreover, when compared according to the fees, MAKAUT B.Tech fees range between INR 24 K - INR 39.6 Lacs whereas Techno India B.Tech fees range between INR 2.68 Lacs - INR 6.32 Lacs. Both the colleges accept JEE Main WBJEE for B.Tech admissions.
