Maulana Abul Kalam Azad institution of Technology (MAKAUT) is a state institution that was previously known as the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). It was established in 2001 by the Government of West Bengal and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has also recognised a number of MAKAUT undergraduate courses.

No, in WBUT (MAKAUT) you cannot change your college. If in case you want to change your college after 1st year then you will have to clear WBJEE/JEE(Main) again and then get admitted to the new college you admire. But you can definitely change your stream/major after consulting the university.
