No, you cannot pursue MBA distance or regular courses on the basis of Diploma Engineering courses. The minimum eligibility criteria for MBA courses is Bachelors degree in any discipline.

The admission process is based on overall assessment of an applicants abilities and potential for a successful management career.
1. Score of CAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA/CMAT/GMAT will be taken as the preliminary score of admission.
2. The applicants shortlisted on the basis of the qualifying exam scores will be called for the Institutes selection process. The dates will be intimated to the short-listed students.

No this will not affect in MBA placement drives. The placement drives are conducted on the basis of CGPA/ Percentage obtained in whole MBA courses.
