Yes, MBA in telecom is as fruitful, as MBA in operations not only for an engineering graduate with ECE branch, but for anybody for that matter. Telecom in India is still an expanding business and many areas still need conquering. Also customer reach is still in the process of increasing year over year. A two year management degree expands to Master of Business Administration, only Universities can grant MBA degrees. Any PGDM which is accredited by AICTE and NBA is considered equivalent to an MBA offered by AIU (Association of Indian Universities). However, most of the top autonomous B-Schools offer PGDM and not MBA.

Technical part requires M.Tech and my personal experience says that in a company once you go in as M.Tech, then if you do great, then you do have option to get your MBA done too. And, as you get to the core team, M.Tech is a better side in most.

Doing MBA in HR, market and the list goes long. India does have good prospects. In addition, Australia is not bad, but great instead.

Yes, PSG accept MAT score, so you can apply for that. And, what I searched that their cut off list is not out yet. And, I don't know what is the average cut off they have. So, I can't help you in this. But, they accept MAT score.

You need to refer as many as books you can a specific book cannot fulfill the requirement and also not need to refer books you also need to access internet resource for additional knowledge.

You can opt for any of the specialization which you want. Even I am an engineer with IT trade. And, currently pursuing MBA with marketing specialization.
