IIT Dhanbad has consistently been acknowledged by the NIRF 2023 as one of the best institutes in all significant categories over the years. When comparing the institute's ranking to that of the prior year, variations have been observed in the 'Management Institutes' category. In the 'Management Institutes' category, IIT Dhanbad rose two spots to #44 in 2023 according to the NIRF rating. For the third year in a row, IIT Dhanbad placed among the top 50 in the nation for the 'Management Institutes' category in 2023.
