This course is equivalent to biomedical engineering. This leads to more practical approach for solving the doctors to treat the patient .This course is emerging with a bright future in India and good scope in other countries.
It's best application is using electronic method to treat most of the deadly diseases.
In short this course is meant to make a difference in Indian health care and delivering a good health.

Your question ! This is what I felt before joining the course.
Medical electronics is a specialized discipline which combines both engineering knowledge and skills with biomedical sciences for improving the health care system in hospitals and medical institutions. This course is like having two degrees; one as a medical professional( a partial doctor) and as a engineer. This course mainly deals with developing new medical devices(like portable ULTRASOUND, digital stethoscope etc) and improving imaging devices(MRI ,CT scan).
Medical electronics engineers are the reason that the doctors can perform their work and profession easily ,S

The admission into an MBA college is based on your graduation. There are a lot of colleges who do not intake students with Diploma. I would suggest you to kindly check the eligibility criteria for MBA on the respective college website beforehand.
