The institute follows a selection process for UG Diploma to select candidates all over India. Cutoff marks required for UG Diploma varries for various universities. Some universities conduct extrance exam and release the cutoff list based on the marks scored in the exam. Others consider the marks scored in 12th from recognised board.

Minimum cutoff for PG Diploma at National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Chandigarh for 2023 is not yet available. The institute releases cutoff marks after the entrance exam which requires registration to be done before hand. After the consideration of various factors like the number of applicants, the level of exam and marks scored by candidates alongwith availability of seats NIELIT announces its cutoff.

To get into this reputed and highly recommend institute there are procedures for various courses. Entrance exam is held to get into the institute, resulting in release of cutoff lists. Though, there are various non-formal and certificate courses that doesn't require extrance exam.
