The Bank exam will allow you to apply for the banking job for PO, Clerk, manger and other posts. While the UGC NET Exam will enable you to become an assistant professor at university level, and for the JRF fellowship award. NET (National Eligibility Test) is an entrance exam through which candidates are awarded for Junior Research Fellowship and selected for the post of Assistant Professor. If you have completed your post graduate degree course in Economics, then yes you can choose Economics subject in NET Examination. You have to choose the subjects in NET on the basis of your post graduation only.

The UGC NET Exam was conducted by CBSE but now from December National Testing Agency is going to conduct the NET exam. The NET exam is conducted twice in June-July and December Month in online mode only. The July 2018 exam was successfully conducted on 8 July and the Next 2018 NET exam is scheduled in December. The tentative schedule for the UGC NET December exam is as follows:
Online Application Form can be filled: 1 September to 30 September 2018
Online UGC NET Exam Date: 2 December to 16 December 2018
Result: Last week of January 2019.
