Class 12th marks have no weightage in the preparation of JEE Main ranks. Students should know that the ranks will be determined based on their score in the entrance exam. However, for admission into IITs, NITs, CFTIs the score that candidates have secured in their class 12 board exam will be taken into account.

All depends on your Interest because choosing Branch is much Important You Learn many things in Next 4 years and Also work in same nature for whole Life so I suggest you If you got low rank in NIT then you can Join but important thing is that you should never compromise with Branch
If you can't get branch according your interest then never select NIT college or go for any private college.
