Admission in NITs for engineering degrees is based on JEE Mains score. If you are targeting IITs then you have to additionally appear for JEE Advanced if your score is above cut off in JEE Mains.

The fee structure of NITs is very low as it is under central government.
It could be around 40000-60000 per annum but if you have scored more then try to get good NITs.
