It's not a good idea considering the wide range of opportunities in mechanical engineering. You can work in many fields like thermal, fluid mechanics, automobile, design if you stick with the mechanical branch.

Thanks for a2a.
I think you should go for NIT, Trichy's CSE as NIT Trichy comes under top 3 rank list of NITs. Also, NIT Trichy CSE is more famous. If you can't afford the high amount of fee in DTU, then go for NIT, Trichy.

NITT and NITK both can be considered for B.Tech as they are constantly on the top of the list. You can go through the syllabus of both the colleges and decide.
