Both institutes are premiere B-Schools of India. NMIMS is much known for marketing and JBIMS much known for finance. But MBA/MMS in any discipline from either institute is good. Both institutes are in Mumbai and industry exposure for students is good in both the institutes. Placements wise JBIMS has a slight edge (placement wise every major financial service company, major banks do come for placements with sought-after profiles. You might not get investment trading desk directly as compared to A, B, and C of the IIMs ) over NMIMS. With regards to admissions perspective, both the institutes have a very high cut-off in CAT. NMIMS recently concluded it's placement for 2017 batch with more no of companies coming and offer more higher package to the student from their MBA core 522 student and 65 from MBA HR batch of 2017.
The highest salary offers was for Rs 34.11 lakh per annum for top 50 student the average package was Rs 23 lakh. The sectoes for placement were:-
IT Consultant, BFSI, Sales and marketing, Supply Chain,Pharma, Oil gas petroleum, Logistics and Automobile.
Around 48% student bagged PPO from there intern company. So it was great for the institute

Apologies for the late reply!
To get admission into NMIMS, one has to give the NMAT exam and score at least 208-210 (based on previous year trends), apart from clearing the sectional cut-offs (LS - 55, QA - 74 & LR - 61).

Hello Rahul,
NMIMS is way ahead of IMT in terms of placements, rankings and overall learning experience. The fee structure is on the higher side but that can be compensated by bagging a good package (average package at NMIMS is approx. Rs 14-15 lakhs).
