The topics included in NSAT syllabus for Reasoning are, Analytical reasoning, Series & sequences, Analogy, Data Interpretation, Blood relation, Syllogisms, Visual reasoning, Bar Graph, Line Graph and Pie Chart, Table Chart. Candidates must practice a good number of and a wide variety of Logical Reasoning practice questions to prepare for this section.

The NSAT syllabus for Quantitative Aptitude includes all Maths topics you studied in Class 9 and 10 such as, Number System, Ratio & SI/ CI, Trigonometry, Percentages, Time, speed and distance/ Time and Work, Geometry & mensuration, Profit, loss and discount, Algebra, PnC, Probability & Set theory. To prepare for this section, refer to sample papers and question banks.

The syllabus for English section of NSAT exam includes reading comprehension, Synonyms and antonyms, fill in the blanks, Spot the error, Para- Jumble, Sentence completion, word meaning, English grammar. Candidates must refer to Wren and Martin High School English Grammar for preparing this section. For Reading Comprehension refer to guide books.

If you have appeared for or are preparing for UG entrance exams having same syllabus as NSAT, then you will need not more than 2-3 months to prepare for NSAT. But, if you plan to appear for NSAT only, then given yourself 6 months so that you can cover the syllabus thoroughly and have enough time for practicing sample questions.

NSAT is an easy exam. One can crack it with basic preparation of Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English and GK. Those appearing for NSAT BTech need to only revise their PCMB, PCB, PCM syllabus of class 11 and 12.
