No, entrance exam is not mandatory for admission to D.Pharma however many colleges admit students to a D.Pharma course via entrance exams. I have mentioned the admission process for D.Pharma below. D.Pharma Admission Process
Most institutes offering the D. Pharmacy course admit students based on performance in a relevant entrance test, often followed by a round of personal interview, wherein their general aptitude for the course is tested. Admission process generally varies across colleges. A few institutes also provide direct admission based on the candidates performance at the 10+2 level. JEE Pharmacy
AU AIMEE Pharmacy

PMET.

Of course, you can get admission in D. Pharmacy, even after a 8 year gap. Please check for your Eligibility criteria to pursue a course in D.Pharma mentioned below:
10+2 passed with Science stream subjects (PCB or M) from a recognised board is the minimum educational qualification required (in some institutes, PCB subjects are mandatory). Minimum aggregate marks required may vary from one institute to another. It could be anywhere between 45-60% marks (in main Science subjects). Admission process: Depending upon the institute, it could be direct admission or merit based admission process. Reputed and well established institutes follow merit based admission process. Under this process, marks scored by students in board examination are taken into consideration. Seats are allotted to deserving students on the basis of merit marks scored by them. Regards.
