Hi, yes you can join ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) after completing a BSc in Physics in India. ISRO recruits individuals from diverse educational backgrounds, including physics, engineering, mathematics, and other scientific disciplines, for various positions.

However, while a BSc in Physics can be a starting point, pursuing higher education and gaining practical experience in fields aligned with ISRO's work can significantly improve your chances of securing a position within the organization. Hope this answer will help you in deciding.

No. BSc Physics requires the highest level of mathematics after pure Mathematics itself. You'll get to study Quantum Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Optics, Calculus, Semiconductors, Waves, Statistics, and so on topics during the course. So, if you want to go for BSc Physics, you need to clear your concepts of Maths first.

The conditions needed for physics classes can change based on the school offering the course and its level (undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD). Candidates are also encouraged to verify the institution's and the course level's eligibility requirements for Physics courses, as these can differ greatly. The following is a general summary of the requirements for Physics courses:

Physics Course Level Eligibility Criteria
UG
  • Class 12 in Science with PCB/PCM/PCMB  (Physics,  Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology) subjects,
  • Minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognised board.
PG
  • Undergraduate degree in BSc Physics or a related discipline,
  • At least a 50-55% aggregate score from a recognised university.
Doctorate
  • Post-graduation degree in MSc Physics or a related field
Diploma/Certification
  • Class 12 in Science with PCB/PCM/PCMB  (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology) subjects,
  • Minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognised board.

After class 12th science, someone interested in Physics can either go for tech courses like BTech or BSc in Physics. BSc in Physics is more inclined towards academia and research areas. BSc in Physics is more of a theoretical approach towards physics concepts, though it does consist of some lab work. BTech would be more practically extensive in that area.

A Physics Course equips students with the knowledge of scientific interactions between matter and energy. It is a study of interactions between the fundamental constituents of the observable universe. The Physics Syllabus aims to provide students with the study of matter, energy, light, motion, space, and time, along with how and why these interact with one another.

One can formally pursue physics through various UG, PG, doctorate and Diploma (UG/PG ) in India. The duration and eligibility vary across different physics course levels. You can get admission in a Physics course either through class 12 merit or entrance exams like - IIT JAM

BSc Physics could be a difficult course to pursue for studentsdue to the following reasons -

  • Complex theories are those which demand an understanding of abstract ideas, that at the beginning might be hard to learn, for example, the theory of relativity, quantum mechanics, and the theory of particles.
  • Application of Concepts: The practice and application of the theories developed requires analysis thought processing and logical reasoning to develop complicated problem-solving abilities.
  • Comprehensive Curriculum: A wide range of subjects span throughout including quantum mechanics, astrophysics, classical mechanics, and electromagnetism.
  • Str

Quantum Physics/Mechanics is the toughest subject. It is also known as Quantum Mechanics, is a fundamental branch of physics that deals with the behavior of matter and energy on the smallest scales—typically at the level of atoms and subatomic particles. It revolutionized our understanding of the universe by introducing entirely new concepts and principles that differ from classical physics.
