No, it cannot be compared with IHM shillong for B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration, as IHM Shillong placements, experience, and exposure are far better than SIHM Durgapur. IHM Shillong has an average placement rate of 90%. Big hotel brands like Leela, Taj, and Oberoi visit the campus for placements. Students also get placements. The highest salary offered was Rs. 35,000 per month. The lowest salary offered was Rs. 15,000 per month.

While it offers quality programs and has a decent placement record, it does not seem to be on par with top-tier institutes like SIHM Durgapur or IIHM Kolkata and Delhi in terms of average salaries and the number of top recruiters participating in campus placements.
