Indeed, in order to be considered for admission to SRM Medical College's MBBS programme, a candidate must pass the NEET (UG) exam. No other entrance exam is acceptable for college admission to the MBBS programme. The only way to fill the slots is through MCC's AIQ counselling. For this counselling, only students who meet the NEET requirements may sign up.

No, state quota is not applicable for seat allotment at SRM Medical College. All the seats are filled through All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling by MCC. NEET qualified candidates from all states can register for the AIQ counselling on the website of MCC and choose SRM Medical College MBBS as their first preference to get a seat.

For MBBS at SRM Medical College, the total number of seats is 250. These seats are allocated on the basis of the merit list of AIQ counselling conducted by MCC. Only the candidates that have qualified NEET marks can register for AIQ counselling and its various rounds. Yes, the students of MBBS at SRM Medical College are required to pursue a one-year internship, in addition to the course period of 4.5 years, as prescribed by the NMC. Hence, the total course period becomes 5.5 years for MBBS students. In this one-year compulsory internship, students gain practical experience in patient care, diagnostics, treatment and management under the supervision of experienced doctors and healthcare professionals. A stipend of INR 13,500 per month is also paid to the MBBS interns at SRM Medical College.
