It is surely recommended. Placements: It's a really great college for placements with top companies as recruiters. College trains students to face job interviews and qualify in the recruitment process with ease. Top roles offered in this particular course are managers in the business industry. SJCC is one of the finest colleges for commerce in India. The good aspect of this college is it is in the center of the city and has very good connectivity. The faculty here is well versed and well experienced

Yes, you should be able to handle that. Though it isn't easy, if you have prepared well, you should be able to ace it. I've even witnessed a lot of medical students (who also studied math) succeed in JEE. By the way, you shouldn't have chosen commerce as your path if you wanted to pursue engineering. Students toil for years with JEE as their primary goal if you keep it as a side choice. You can't possibly make JEE your second choice, though it's not impossible but will take some serious hard work.
