Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) Kolkata is a well-regarded engineering college in Kolkata. It is accredited by NAAC and NBA and is approved by the AICTE. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering and computer applications. According to the NIRF rankings 2022, HIT Kolkata was ranked 201st for B.Tech in India. The college has an excellent placement record, with companies such as Microsoft, ICICI Securities, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, and HSBC Securities among the top recruiters.

Therefore, even if a student does poorly on the internal exams, he or she can still pass the semester provided they do well on the semester exams and turn in their assignments on time. Internals, Sem Exams, Attendance, and Assignments all count towards the final grade, which must be 40% overall for the student to pass.
