As per former students of UMass Lowell, it has particularly good engineering and health sciences programs. The University of Massachusetts Lowell also has a few somewhat rare majors, such as plastics engineering, meteorology, and sound recording technology. Those students do very well with job searches upon graduating. The Professional Co-op program has been very successful and is still expanding. And it is one of maybe a handful of schools that is situated directly on a river, as in, it splits the campus in half.
