General category: 50% in graduation
Reserved categories (OBC/SC/ST/PwD/EWS): 45% in graduation
Any recognised bachelor's degree is acceptable.

The candidates from general category need a minimum of 50% marks in their graduation. If they have an engineering background, the minimum is 55%.

Students with a state rank up to 10,000 have a good chance of getting a government college via UP BEd JEE, although this depends on the category, availability of seats, and college choices during counseling. SC/ST students may have a chance even with ranks up to 25,000, provided they have good marks (approximately 235-245+).
