Hello, Vallabhbhai Patel chest institute is a very specialised institution for post graduate studies in pulmonary and chest diseases. Over a period of time it has of course branched out into different branches in post graduate medicine. Also one must understand that the number of students in every batch in such institutes is quite minimal. Hello, Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute is very well known throughout India and specially in Northern India as an institution to go for studying in specialisations concerning chest medicine. It is in fact perhaps the top most institute for postgraduate studies in chest and respiratory diseases. As a result of this the closing ranks of NEET PG, in pulmonary medicine is 2485 in the first round. For other branches of post graduate studies the closing rank in first round was as low as 37225. The second round of counselling in the current year is yet to begin and perhaps the closing ranks may get further diluted in those rounds.

Hello, this specialist chest institute for post graduate studies is named after the first deputy prime minister of India sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He laid the foundation stone on 6th April 1949 and the college was formally opened on 12th January 1953. Almost 70 years ago. This is a government college funded by the ministry of health of the Government of India and affiliated to the Delhi University. This college has quite a good reputation as one of the best places to study anything to do with just diseases for the post graduation level.
