It is difficult to compare and say which is better since both have their own pros and cons and are better in their own way. Mechatronics engineering involved electronics and instrumentation concepts along with mechanical concepts and hence it is designed in such a way to suit the future needs of the industries. While purely mechanical engineering is the base for any component to work efficiently and you cannot study these courses in any of the other branches. So, I would suggest you to take any course that interests you a lot. And if you are ready to go with any of these, then my choice would be mechatronics engineering. Choosing a better college is as important as selecting a good course.

It depends according to the college that you are looking for. On average it will cost you about 5 lakhs but like I said depending on the reputation of the college, it can go up or down. * First thing would undoubtedly be to shortlist colleges that match your preferences, financial capacity, and location.
