To be eligible to pursue MCA at Anna University, an applicant must have a valid bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in BCA, BSc (Information Technology/Computer Science), Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum aggregate of 50%. The minimum aggregate required in case of candidates belonging to the reserved categories is 45%. Hence, whether a candidate scoring less than 50% is eligible to pursue MCA at the university depends on the reservation category they belong to. However, meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee admission to the MCA programme of the university. The admission to the programme is based on the scores in TANCET. In case a candidate fails to clear the TANCET cut-off required for MCA admission at Anna University, they can check out other colleges/universities offering the course. They can also pursue MCA in distance mode. Candidates can also go for one of the colleges offering online MCA courses.
