Getting Computer Engineering is a little difficult because as per my knowledge a minimum of 90% is required for getting Computer Engineering through Diploma. First of all cut off depends solely on the highest number of marks obtained by an individual and it changes every year accordingly.But looking at the past records you need a minimum 110 to secure a seat in DJ Sanghvi whereas around 100 would do for KJ Somaiya. Secondly DJ Sanghvi provides you a BE degree whereas KJ Somaiya will give you a BTech degree. Labs are really clean and tidy in both these colleges. Also I would like to tell you is look how convenient a college is for you in terms of travelling purposes. So, basically, there is no cut-off as such for HSC marks, but in order to pursue engineering, you need a minimum of 70% aggregate in PCM i.e. Physics, Chemistry & Maths. For specifically Biomedical Engineering in D.J. Sanghvi, if you belong to GCLM category (Gujrati Caste Linguistic Minority) then cut-off is 79/200 and in the open category, it is 81/200.
Please Note: The cut-off mentioned are as per 2017 and may not remain same for the upcoming years.

Actually, cut-off gets decided by the highest marks obtained by a particular student.
As far as 2017 is concerned, the cut-off for computers was 143 in GCLM and 148 in the open category.

It solely depends on the number of students passing or failing in that. The number of students leaving the college which may lead to the vacancy of seats. You can inquire about the seats from the college office for further details. Hope this helps!

Regarding the curriculum it is almost the same but since K.J Somaiya is autonomous there is no mess like Mumbai University. For playing football D.J Sanhvi doesn't have its own ground while K.J Somaiya provides a huge campus. Both the colleges have a collaboration with Mumbai University and have the same course curriculum for all 4 years of the four course years.
Sardar Patel Institute of Technology is much better than DJ Sanghvi.
This is because of the fact that the college had a much better reputation in terms of placement and faculty.
But, if you don't get into any of the branches like computer science or information technology, then it is not worth it, as the placements in mechanical and other such core branches are below average.
I must tell you though that both the colleges are below average and the faculty members are never able to complete the course to a 100 percent.

Dwarkadas J. Sanghvi College of Engineering is among the top colleges in the Mumbai, but only in terms of infrastructure and academics and if you get your hopes high about the placements in the college, you are about get disappointed really bad.
The college provides for an average placement package of around 3.5 lacs and that too in IT corporate companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Accenture or actually mass recruiters which tells about the state of placement in the college.
The total batch placement percentage is around 70% and almost no core placement is seen in the college. Hence, the placements in the college are not at all satisfactory and one looking for placements should not take admission for the sake of it.
The highest placement in the college for mechanical engineering branch in 2017 branch was around 5-6 LPA. Hence I would recommend someone to join the college only if he or she has no other option.
