NTA reconducted the NEET 2024 exam for 1,563 candidates with grace marks on June 23, 2024. As many as 813 candidates appeared for the NEET 2024 retest in six centres out of seven. In one centre of Chandigarh, none of the candidates (two) turned up. The NEET 2024 admit card for the retest was released on June 20, 2024, for the 1,563 eligible candidates. The NEET 2024 re-exam result was declared on July 1, 2024. Candidates appearing for the re-NEET 2024 did not need to fill and submit the NEET 2024 application form again.

The NEET 2024 counselling process began on August 14, 2024, with the registration process for Round 1. The last date of registration for NEET 2024 counselling Round 1 was August 20, 2024, 12 noon, and the application fee had to be paid till 3 PM on the same date. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the counselling authority did not extend the last date of application, but extended the choice filling and locking dates based on student requests or other external factors. The seat allotment result was declared on August 25, 2024.
The Supreme Court of India delivered the verdict on various NEET petitions on July 23, 2024. According to this, no retest would be conducted since the paper leak was not widespread. Moreover, the apex court revoked the bonus marks awarded to candidates attempting the controversial Physics question in NEET 2024, wherein NTA had stated that two correct answer options were there. Based on this, NTA released re-revised scorecards and merit list on July 26, 2024. According to the revised NEET 2024 merit list, the total number of toppers has reduced to 17. As many as 13,15,853 candidates qualified for NEET 2024 out of 23,33,162 test takers, as per the revised merit list. NTA identified 135 unfair means (UFM) cases and these candidates were disqualified from the NEET 2024 exam, reducing the total number of test-takers from 23,33,297 to 23,33,162. The NEET 2024 cutoff has also been reduced by two marks for all categories. NTA also released revised NEET 2024 final answer keys.
The NEET application form 2024 process was conducted in two phases by NTA. The original NEET registration 2024 and application dates were February 9, 2024, to March 16, 2024. Later, the NEET 2024 application form was released again by NTA from April 9 to April 10, 2024, till 10.50 PM.
The NEET 2024 application correction window was open from March 18, 2024, to March 20, 2024, 11.50 PM, and reopened from April 11 to April 15, 2024. NTA reopened the NEET 2024 application correction window for the third time from April 25, 2024, to April 26, 2024, 11.59 PM. This time, corrections or changes could be made only on the photographs.

NEET 2024 was conducted on May 5, 2024, from 2 PM to 5.20 PM (IST). NTA conducted the exam in 571 cities across India and abroad. Around 20 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. No, there is no fee associated with the NEET 2024 application correction process, unless candidates updated their category which impacted the application fee. The additional fee had to be paid through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI and Paytm. In case candidates changed their category, they must have uploaded the requisite category certificate. However, NTA mentioned that in case after the category change if the application fee would be lower, the additional fee would not be refunded.
Q: I made a mistake in the email ID during NEET 2024 registration. What can I do?
If you complete the NEET application form 2024 with an incorrect email address, you will not receive official email notifications. However, if the mobile number that you have registered on the NTA portal is correct, you will receive the same notification on your phone via SMS. Furthermore, they will not receive OTP via email which is a mandatory step of verification and completion of the application process. NTA does not allow candidates to change or correct their email addresses in the application correction window. Hence, in case candidates have made a mistake in their email, they are advised to register and apply again with their correct email address.

The NEET 2024 application form-filling process was completely online. The process is divided into three to four steps, which were as follows:
