The entrance exam for all medical programmes in India, including BAMS, is called NEET. In order to get admitted to a government institution under the general category, a student must receive more than 400 marks on the NEET exam. A student just has to receive 360–380 out of 720 points to be admitted to the government college in the general category if they wish to apply for state-level counseling. However, a student needs to receive more than 400 to 450 out of 720 points in the NEET exam in order to apply to all the BAMS government colleges in India. These grades are sufficient to be admitted to a general category government BAMS college.
