The hostel Mess in GEC Sreekrishnapuram offers a quality food which is mostly *positive to average*. Students refer to it as good, neat and healthy and tend to state the existence of variety with variations such as special food day. It is not gourmetly but rather good, healthy and substantial food which is usually better than in some other private guest houses. The mess is organized through a system of division and thus it is cost effective. The quality of the food consumed in the hostel mess of Government Engineering College, Sreekrishnapuram (GECSKP) is not *bad* but it has been observed to be at par with *average* food in hostels. The students corroborate this by using words such as good, neat and healthy, special days among the students with some referring to days of different food. It is not gourmet but it is said to be decent, hygienic and has enough calories to live on day to day. There are some students who even rate it better than the meals available in local private hostels and the mess is on dividing system.
