You just need to qualify CAT. But let me tell you the competition in it is very high and for IIM A you need to have a nice academic background and you need to score 98-10% in CAT

Is it true, the salary packages in IIM colleges will definitely be higher (in the range of 15-20 LPA)?

Exactly, It is not true. The average and median packages are around 15-16 LPA, which means that half of the students get placed below this.

Hi Ansh,
Shiksha is an education portal and provides unbiased guidance regarding education and career sector. However, we can help you with the parameters that you can keep in mind while choosing an institute. You can consider the below given parameters:
1) Faculty
2) Affiliation / recognition
3) Course material
4) Quality education
5) Fees
6) Infrastructure
7) Success rate
8) Placement
9) Top recruiting companies.
Also, if possible, go through the alumni speak section to get an idea what the alumni thinks about the institute.
Salary is a function of various factors –
(i) The institute where you have completed your B.Tech + M.Tech. E.g. a graduate from a top institute will command a higher salary.
(ii) Your work experience - Organization and type of work profile.
(iii) City - A metropolitan city will have higher salaries as compared to smaller cities and towns.
(iv) Your current organization - I.e. where you will be joining, an MNC usually has higher salaries as compared to other organizations.
(v) Your work profile i.e. Manager/ AVP, etc. Thus, one cannot allocate a figure.
I hope this information helps. Please, feel free to revert.
Wish you luck.

It's always advisable to practise well for each chapter. All these exams are about choosing right questions( which can be solved easily) and don't waste time for complex questions. So start with questions with which you are comfortable and then try other parts. If you have at least learnt basic concepts, you might be able to solve easy questions of any chapter, because one never knows examiner will give tough question from which part.
Best of luck :)

Mostly. No chances. IIM Ahmedabad has a minimum criteria for the average of tenght. A few twelfth percentage which I think is 80% for general category. Bit lower for reservation categories.
