Industrial Design Centre (IDC) at IIT Bombay is offering Bachelor of Design degree (M.Des) programmes in Industrial Design, Visual Communication, Animation Design, Interaction Design & Mobility and Vehicle Design. So B.Des in Graphic design is not available here.

IDC IIT-B is offering B.Des program in the following specializations. 1. Industrial design 2. Visual Communication 3. Animation Design 4. Interaction Design 5. Mobility and Vehicle Design Industrial Design at IDC : The Industrial design programme concentrates on developing skills, knowledge and attitude among students to become creative problem solvers who can effectively and strategically use different design processes and methods. The students learn to correlate technical and ergonomic functions of a product with the real human needs. They develop their innovative and aesthetic sensibilities into making a coherent and appropriate product. The students are encouraged to solve socially relevant problems. During the program, students interact with industries, institutions and social organizations during their project to understand, study, analyze and solve various kinds of existing problems. The choice and outcome of final degree projects reflect the students aspirations to change the Indian product scene. 

Hello Priyanka Sarode, it's very nice to see your interest to not only pursue the course but also to know about the fees charged. Frankly speaking, fees across the board in private engineering colleges are fixed for two years by a committee headed by retired HC judge. But there is no such condition for govt colleges. It's all a political decision. Hence no one can predict. However once you take admission, fees remain same till completion of the course. My guess is that fees will not be increasing next year.

IDC is offering a four year, eight semester Bachelor of Design (B. Des) programme and a five year, ten semester dual degree B. Des + M.Des programme. However, the option of doing the dual degree, B. Des + M.Des will be available only at the end of the 3rd year. Both these programmes would be credit - based and thus offer the flexibility to progress at one's own pace. A minimum level of performance is essential for satisfactory progress. The medium of instruction is English. The B. Des courses are available in the following specializations as Industrial Design, Visual Communication, Interaction Design, Animation and Mobility and Vehicle Design. The admission in IDC IIT-B in B. Des courses are based on the ranks obtained in UCEED entrance exam. The eligibility criteria of UCEED is 10+2 and conducted in the month of January every year.

The eligibility criteria of M.Des in Mobility and Vehicle Design from Industrial Design Centre - IIT Bombay is given below.
Eligibility criteria : Bachelors Degree in Design/Engineering/Architecture/ Interior Design: 10+2+4 years (minimum four year Bachelors course).
Note: B.Plan. considered equivalent to B.Arch. Four year B.Sc (Engg) course after HSC considered equivalent to BE/B.Tech.
OR Professional Diploma in Design: 10+2+4 years (minimum four year Diploma program).
OR BFA Sculpture (4 year professional program with entry after 10+2).
So from above B.Des is not mandatory for the asked course.

Hi Shubham,
The Designing Courses are Skill Based Programs. So they should not be treated like any other regular UG courses.
So you should study 1st year as well to learn the basics. Even if you did 1st from another college.
I do not think lateral entry in any Design School Possible.
Think again and restart.
