IDC School of Design Admission 2025: Fees, Courses, Eligibility and Selection

To get admission to Industrial Design Centre IIT Bombay can be competitive. Their minimum eligibility is easy to meet but beating the competition can be challenging. The admission committee decides your admission on the overall criteria of your previous academic performance, work experience, performance in design test, and performance in interview, portfolio, and CEED scores. Their test is about one and a half hours duration which will test your ability to creatively and appropriately solve simple design problems. 

Industrial Design Centre - IIT Bombay has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:

Courses	Eligibility
B.Des	The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1998 if belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and, on or after October 1, 1993 if belonging to the SC, STor PwD category.
M.Des	Candidate who have completed diploma/post graduate degree graduation from a recognised Institute/ University can also apply. Candidate who have passed the GD Arts Diploma programme (10+5 level) by July 2023 is also eligible to apply.

The Industrial Design Centre (IDC) of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay accepts the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) for admission to the M.Des. program. To be eligible for the course, the candidates must have completed a degree of a minimum of 3 years (after 10+2 level), or must be appearing for the final examination of such a program by July 2024 are eligible to apply.

To get admitted to the Industrial Design Centre (IDC) at IIT Bombay, you must have the following documents:
Undergraduate qualifications: You must have the necessary undergraduate qualifications. 
CEED Score Card: You must have a valid result from the All India Common Entrance Examination for Design. 
equivalency certificate: If you have a degree from a foreign university, you must obtain an equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities. 
Original certifications: Please bring your original certificates including your Aadhar card, Migration Certificate, Previous examination result card, etc.
Testimonials: You must bring testimonials with Xeroxed verified copies of each.
