Admissions at NID Jorhat are both entrance-based and merit-based. Candidates must first qualify for the institute's design aptitude test (DAT) by scoring well in the National Institute of Design Aptitude Test (NID-DAT), a national-level entrance exam. The DAT further evaluates candidates' design skills, creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Finally, shortlisted candidates undergo personal interviews to assess their communication skills, motivation, design philosophy, and overall suitability for the B.Des program. In essence, the selection process at NID Jorhat is a combination of entrance exam (NID-DAT), design aptitude test (DAT), and personal interviews. Candidates are evaluated based on their performance in each stage, and admission is offered to those who demonstrate the strongest combination of design aptitude, creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and overall suitability for the program. Here's a breakdown of the selection processNID-DAT: The NID-DAT is the first hurdle in the admission process. Candidates must score well in this entrance exam to be considered for further evaluation.DAT: Shortlisted candidates from the NID-DAT are invited for the DAT, a hands-on studio-based test that assesses their design skills, creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities.Personal Interviews: Candidates who perform well in the DAT are invited for personal interviews to assess their communication skills, motivation, design philosophy, and overall suitability for the B.Des program.Merit List: A merit list is prepared based on the combined performance in the NID-DAT, and personal interviews. Admission is offered to candidates based on their ranking on this merit list. So, while NID Jorhat considers both entrance exam scores (NID-DAT) and design aptitude (DAT), the overall selection process is merit-based, meaning that candidates are ultimately selected based on their overall performance throughout the various stages of evaluation.

At Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation University (K L College of Engineering), we have an entrance-based admission process. This means that all candidates must take an entrance examination in order to be eligible for admission. Our university accepts scores from various entrance exams, such as KLMAT, KLEEE, JEE-Main, JEE-Advanced, and state-level engineering entrance exams across India, including EAMCET. We also take into account the candidate's performance in their qualifying examination, along with their entrance exam score. The weighting given to each component may vary depending on the programme they are applying for. Additionally, we also consider candidates who have excelled in sports or cultural activities.

Generally, universities may have a combination of entrance-based and merit-based admissions, depending on the program. For professional courses like MBA, it's common to have entrance exams as part of the admission process. Students are often required to appear for a relevant entrance exam, and the admission decision is based on both the performance in the entrance exam and academic merit. To get the most accurate and up-to-date information about the admission criteria for the MBA program at APSU, including whether it is entrance-based, merit-based, or a combination of both, I recommend checking the official website of Awadhesh Pratap Singh University or contacting the university's admission office directly. They can provide specific details about the admission process, including any required entrance exams and the weightage given to academic merit.Admission policies may change from year to year, so it's crucial to refer to the latest information provided by the university.
