For undergraduate programmes, Allahabad State University predominantly uses merit-based admissions. The university does, however, administer the Common admission Test (CET), a separate admission exam, for specific programmes, such as those in the professional stream. Various methods will be implemented for the admissions process in each and every programme. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is the basis for admission to undergraduate programmes other than integrated and professional programmes. Merit-based admissions are used for UG and PG integrated programmes. CET-based admissions are used for professional programmes. In brief, Allahabad State University employs entrance tests for some specialised courses but mostly uses a merit-based admissions system for undergraduate programmes. To ascertain the relevant selection procedure, applicants should thoroughly study the admission requirements for the programme they wish to enrol in.

Merit-based admissions are the main criteria at Shobhit University in Saharanpur. In other words, applicants are chosen for admission on the basis of their academic standing in prerequisite tests, such the 10+2 or graduation-level exams. However, the institution could also hold admission tests for certain courses or take into account additional elements like extracurricular involvement or prior employment. The majority of undergraduate programmes admit students on the basis of merit, with a passing grade in the 10+2 test and the necessary percentage of points in the relevant disciplines serving as the minimal qualification. Candidates may also need to take an entrance test in order to be considered for some programmes, such engineering and pharmacy. Postgraduate admissions are also determined by merit, with graduation from an accredited university in the relevant field serving as the minimal need for admission.Research aptitude and merit are the main criteria for admission to Ph.D. research programmes. Master's degree in the pertinent field, strong academic standing, and research experience are usually prerequisites for candidates.

Kohinoor Business School (KBS) accepts students on the basis of both merit and admission. Students are accepted into KBS according to how well they do on admission tests that are standardised, such the CAT, MAT, and XAT. 50% is the minimal percentile needed to be admitted to the MMS programme. To evaluate each applicant's overall worth, KBS also takes into account their academic record, extracurricular involvement, and in-person interviews. A solid academic record, relevant extracurricular activities, and an engaging personal statement increase an applicant's chances of being accepted.A thorough assessment of a student's likelihood for success in the MMS programme is conducted as part of the KBS admissions process. Academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and in-person interviews offer a more comprehensive picture of a student's talents than do entrance examinations, which function as a standardised gauge of a student's mathematical and analytical skills.
