KEAM is the preferred mode: KEAM score is considered essential for admission to B.Tech programme by NCERC. Majority if not all the Quota seats in all the government medical and dental colleges are from the KEAM rankings. Management Quota might have a requirement: When a student gets an admission in the Management Quota, he can get admission based on marks and any entrance exam other than KEAM but certain colleges still maintain the KEAM score as one of the criteria. However, there's a slight possibility for admission without KEAM under the NRI quota:NRI Quota: NCERC keeps 15% B.Tech seats open to Non Resident Indian (NRI) students. These seats may not even necessitate the KEAM scores. Here's what you can do:Contact NCERC Admissions Office: Take a chance and call the admission authority of NCERC and ask them if they would take you in as an NRI irrespective of you not writing KEAM. In terms of admission procedures they can bring the most relevant and up to date information concerning any specifics of the respective institution.Consider Appearing for KEAM: If you're not sure about getting a high score, still it would be advantageous to appear for KEAM. It makes it possible to consider government as well as management quota seats that often have minimum KEAM score cut off.

Candidates can join *Nehru College of Engineering and Research Centre (NCERC)* through two main admission routes: *KEAM-based admission* and *Management Quota*. For KEAM-based admission, candidates must have completed their 12th standard with at least 45% marks in *Physics*, *Chemistry*, and *Mathematics*, and must appear for the *Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination (KEAM)*. Based on their KEAM rank, candidates participate in the centralized counseling process, where they select their preferred colleges and branches. If allotted a seat at NCERC, they must complete the admission formalities, including document verification and fee payment. For *Management Quota* admission, candidates must also meet the basic eligibility criteria (45% in the relevant subjects) and can apply directly to the college. Admission is based on academic merit, and while it is less competitive than KEAM-based admission, it typically comes with higher fees.
