There is no placement cell at NISER. However, students who score more than 7.5 CGPA after 5 years integrated M.Sc. Course get a chance to attend an interview for the post of C grade scientist in the BARC with a salary of Rs. 80,000 per month. Usually, students do Ph.D. from top institutions abroad and India.

You can apply for both the exam if you fulfill the eligibility criteria for both the exams. Make sure that all the educational criteria you have for both exams. Both IIT JAM and JEST are held for the same purpose however there are some differences between them. There is no age limit for IIT JAM exam. The JEST is a screening test held for the selection of candidates for M.Sc, and Integrated courses on the other hand qualifying the IIT JAM exam will make you eligible to take admission into IIT institutes for M.Sc, Ph.D or other integrated courses. Candidates seeking admission to the Integrated M.Sc programme must need to appear in National Entrance Screening Test popularly known as NEST is the sole criterion to get admission in M.Sc. programme, conducted for admission into the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER). Completion of Intermediate (12 years of school education) in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and/or Mathematics as the subjects of study.
