At PIBM, start working on real-world business problems from the very first year itself.Through live projects, case studies, workshops, and industry assignments, we were exposed to actual business scenarios early on. This helped me apply classroom learning practically, develop problem-solving skills, and understand corporate expectations, so by the time internships and placements came around, I already had hands-on experience.

You need either 3-years or 4-years of undergraduate degree in any discipline. At least 50% marks or 45% for reserved categories is must. Final-year students can also apply if they can submit their final marksheet by the time of admission.

PIBM accepts valid scores from national exams including CAT, XAT, MAT or CMAT. If a student has not taken these, they must appear for the PMAT (PIBM's Management Aptitude Test), an internal 75-minute online assessment.

At PIBM Pune, internships are typically evaluated using a KPI-based (Key Performance Indicator) assessment to measure how effectively students apply their learning in real business scenarios. As an ex-student, I observed that these KPIs usually include:Task Completion & Quality: How accurately and efficiently assigned tasks are completed.Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze data, generate insights, and provide solutions.Professionalism & Work Ethic: Punctuality, communication, teamwork, and adaptability.Innovation & Initiative: Willingness to take ownership and suggest improvements.Learning & Application: How well classroom concepts are applied to actual business problems.Performance is often monitored by both the corporate mentor and PIBM faculty, and feedback is given to help students improve before final placements.

From my experience as an ex-student, the mock GDs and mock interviews at PIBM are quite effective. They help students understand the format, develop confidence, and improve communication skills before facing actual placement rounds. The feedback provided after each session is practical and points out areas of improvement, whether it's body language, content, or answering strategy.Overall, these mock sessions make students more comfortable, polished, and better prepared for real interviews and group discussions.

At PIBM, management students typically enrol in one major internship (summer internship) as part of the PGDM program.A summer internship is a key part of the curriculum, where students work with companies on real business assignments, gain practical exposure, and often use it to build their profiles for final placements. While there aren't multiple mandatory internships, students can also explore industry projects, live assignments, or short corporate engagements if they take the initiative and coordinate with the placement team or faculty mentors.
